The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has confirmed that two men have died following a collision involving a bus and a car in Co Fermanagh last night.
The incident occurred on the Derrylin Road in Enniskillen shortly after 7pm.
Police said the two people who died were the occupants of the car.
The Bus Éireann Expressway coach was en route from Dublin to Donegal at the time of the collision.
In a statement this evening, Chief Inspector Simpson of the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit said the two occupants in the Ford Kuga car were pronounced dead at the scene.
Chief Inspector Simpson said there were no reports of any serious injuries to the driver or passengers of the bus.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said it had sent personnel to the scene on the Derrylin Road out of Enniskillen.
“The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 7pm on Friday 28 November following reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Derrylin Road, Enniskillen,” the NIAS said in a statement.
“NIAS despatched two Rapid Response Paramedics, two Emergency Crews and an Ambulance Officer to the incident.
“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, no patients were taken to hospital.”
Sinn Féin MLA Jemma Dolan said the collision was a “tragedy and has shocked the local community”.
She said in a statement: “This is the latest tragic incident on our roads in recent weeks.
“I want to send my condolences to the victims’ families and friends at this time.
“My thoughts are also with those involved in the collision and I also pay tribute to the emergency services who attended the scene.
“Anyone with information about the collision should contact the police.”
Bus Éireann confirmed the coach involved was the Dublin to Donegal service.
