Australia drew the Philippines in their first match of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ at Sydney Town Hall tonight. This means the CommBank Matildas will open the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Australia 2026™ at Perth Stadium on 1 March 2026.
Australia (15) was drawn into Group A alongside Korea Republic (21), Philippines (41) and IR Iran (68). The CommBank Matildas have recently hosted the Korea Republic in a two-game friendly series in Sydney and Newcastle this past April and played the Philippines in October 2023 in their qualification campaign for the 2024 Olympic Games.
