Anthony Albanese and his bride Jodie Haydon marked their marriage with a two-tier wedding cake and a music playlist that matched the tastes of the happy couple.
A day after the first wedding of a sitting prime minister while in office, details of the event that occurred in the gardens of The Lodge in Canberra are starting to emerge.

Finance Minister Katy Gallagher, a Canberra-local who was one of the 40 guests to the event, revealed on Sunday that Albanese, Haydon, her parents and the prime minister’s son Nathan all gave speeches before one of the key elements of the wedding – the cutting of the cake.
“I didn’t have any, I’m not a cake person, but, it was a two-tier wedding cake,” she said.
“It was stunning and they both gave their speeches just before cutting the cake.”
Gallagher professed to not being a dancer, but said there was a dance floor and music in line with the tastes of the bride and groom.
“There was certainly a dancefloor and there was music going, yes, and as anyone who knows the PM and Jodie, they both love music,” she said.
“It’s one of the things that they share together and so, yes, there was very tailored music.
“It was just a lovely night, a lovely day, lovely afternoon and the PM and Jodie were just thrilled with how it all went down and hopefully they’re resting this morning.”
