North Melbourne’s formidable AFLW outfit looks set to somehow find an extra gear, with yet another elite talent requesting a trade to join the powerhouse.
The Western Bulldogs confirmed on Monday morning that the former No.1 draft pick Kristie-Lee Weston-Turner has nominated the Kangaroos as her club of choice, after just two years at the club.
The 2023 top pick had been weighing interest from several suitors — most notably grand finalists Brisbane — but has since informed the Lions on that her preference was to land at Arden Street during the upcoming Trade Period.

Her decision arrives not even 48 hours after North wrapped up a flawless 15-0 season, and extending their undefeated run to an astonishing 27 games with a dominant 40-point grand final win over Brisbane on Saturday night.
Brisbane and Hawthorn had both shown interest after Weston-Turner indicated her desire for a fresh start, but North Melbourne had long been seen as the favourites.
The 20-year-forward has spent two seasons at Whitten Oval since being drafted, however has only played eight games due to a difficult 2025 campaign which saw her take to the field only once.
Should a trade be completed, Weston-Turner would become the latest high-profile addition in what has seemingly become an annual tradition for the Roos. Dual All-Australian and best-on-ground in the grand final Eilish Sheerin came across from Richmond only last year, in a move that paid instant dividends.
The year prior, star defender Libby Birch joined the ‘Shinboners’, poached from Melbourne after three years at the Demons.
The AFLW Trade Period runs from this Thursday, December 4 to Wednesday, December 10.
