A rare amber weather warning is covering a large part of Wales

A number of main roads are affected by flooding in Wales following a day of torrential rain and a rare amber weather warning. Some of the routes, which include eight A-roads and two B-roads, are “just passable” while others are fully closed in both directions.

All the roads flooded in Wales on Monday evening, according to InrixGwynedd: A499 Lon Pont Morgan in both directions closed due to flooding from the A497 (Pwllheli) to Afon Y Felin (Abersoch).Gwynedd: A4085 in both directions closed due to flooding from Bryn Goleu (Waunfawr) to the B4418 (Rhyd Ddu).Gwynedd: A4085 in both directions closed due to flooding from the A498 (Pont Aberglaslyn) to the B4410 (Llanfrothen).Gwynedd: A497 in both directions just passable due to flooding at the B4412.Gwynedd: A487 in both directions just passable due to flooding from B4118 Ffordd Clynnog (Penygroes) to Lon Cefn Glyn (Groeslon). Approach with care.Gwynedd: A496 in both directions just passable due to flooding from the B4573 (Ynys) to Ty Canol (Harlech).Gwynedd: A4244 in both directions just passable, slow traffic due to flooding from The B4366 (Rhiwlas) to The Petrol Station (Deiniolen).Isle of Anglesey: A5114 Glanhwfa Road in both directions just passable due to flooding from Llangefni Link Road to Tan Y Fron.Carmarthenshire: A4069 Station Road in both directions closed due to flooding from A40 (Square and Compass roundabout) to Llangadog train station.Gwynedd: B4410 in both directions closed due to flooding from the A498 (Prenteg) to the A4085 (Garreg).Gwynedd: B4405 in both directions closed due to flooding from the A493 (Bryncrug) to A487 Rhiw Ty Neint (Minffordd).Routes affected by strong windsGwynedd to Isle of Anglesey: Strong winds on A55 Britannia Bridge between J9 A487 (Treborth) and J8 A5 (Llanfair P.G.). Matrix sign set to 30 mph. Advisory restrictions are in place for caravans, motorbikes and cyclists.Neath Port Talbot: Speed restriction of 30 mph due to strong winds on M4 Briton Ferry Bridge from J41 A48 Pentyla-Baglan Road (Baglan / Pentyla) to J42 A483 (Swansea East / Briton Ferry).
