Ten months after her son vanished at a Quebec ski resort, an Ontario mother has returned to the site searching for answers.
Kathleen Toman is at Mont-Tremblant this weekend speaking with people and handing out wristbands. The village has an influx of visitors due to the World Cup.
“We’re here to keep the awareness,” said Toman.
Her son, Liam, disappeared on Feb. 2. The 22-year-old was on a ski trip with friends and was last seen leaving a bar around 3 a.m. However, he never made it back to his hotel.
On March 22, after the snow melted, his wallet was found, but it provided no answers.
“Nobody just vanishes,” said Toman. “We truly believe somebody does know something.”
The reward to find Liam has recently increased from $10,000 to $50,000. Toman says she is hoping this will spark a memory or tip.
In November, the family searched alongside Quebec provincial police (SQ) and other organizations. The SQ told CTV News there is no new information at the moment.
The family has also created a website, liamtoman.com, outlining the timeline of Liam’s disappearance.
Despite the ongoing mystery, Toman remains hopeful she will find answers.
“I will not stop. Our family will not stop. We’re going to figure this out.”
