A 52-year-old man has appeared in private accused of murdering Inverness musician Iain Gordon Macfarlane.

Waldemar Jaronski, from Inverness, appeared before Sheriff Ian Cruickshank and made no plea to the allegation which is said to have taken place at a house in Strathspey Place on December 4.

Jaronski, who was represented by Inverness solicitor Marc Dickson, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

He will appear again at Inverness Sheriff Court within the next eight days.

Mr Macfarlane (32), was originally from Ullapool and played regularly at the Bike Shed in Inverness’s Merkinch and the Discovery Centre in the Eastgate Shopping precinct.
