Great “Expectations”: News Corp’s love affair with Sydney Merivale restaurant baron Justin Hemmes has continued, with the company’s annual Christmas party upgrading from its usual spot at The Beresford to the crown jewel of the Hemmesphere, the Ivy.
While the Nine papers have distanced themselves from Hemmes by blacklisting his venues from their annual Good Food Guide — following Nine’s own reports of allegations of staff exploitation and the mishandling of sexual harassment claims at Merivale venues — it seems News Corp is comfortable with the association.
