Knesset Member Naor Shiri (Yesh Atid) responded to the ultra-Orthodox riots in Jerusalem, writing on X (formerly Twitter): “13 injured police officers. Overturned police vehicles. An IDF bus pelted with stones. Every protester who throws a stone at an IDF soldier should end the day with a bullet in the knee. Nothing less.” About an hour later, Shiri deleted the post and wrote: “The image of soldiers and police officers being stoned in the State of Israel is an event that I consider equivalent to terrorism. If a stone had hit a soldier and he was injured, God forbid, I am certain the discourse regarding protest boundaries would have been completely different. I deleted it because our country is on the edge, and interpretations about hatred of the ultra-Orthodox were not the purpose of the tweet.”
