Johnny Logan celebrates his 1987 Eurovision victory
One of the great Irish singers – the Irish Elvis – Johnny Logan won the Eurovision in 1980 when he sang Shay Healy’s What’s Another Year. The world, it appeared, was at his feet. Then, for various reasons, it wasn’t, and his career faltered.
It was a few years until he recovered, courtesy of a song about saying love and saying goodbye… a song that brought redemption.
