Previously restricted photographs of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s life are being made available to the public following an order by US President Donald Trump.

Epstein died in 2016 at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre in New York having previously been convicted of procuring a child for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute.

READ NAME: Multiple Oxfordshire celebrities named in Jeffrey Epstein documents

Among those pictured are former Oxford University student and US President Bill Clinton as well as another former student Peter Mandelson.

Being pictured does not mean there was a friendship with Epstein nor that there was any wrongdoing.

Mr Mandelson was also an honorary fellow of his alma mater, St. Catherine’s College, and ran to be chancellor of the university in 2024, a race that was won by William Hague.

In addition Mr Epstein’s close associate Ghislaine Maxwell was also pictured.

She was raised and studied in Oxford and is now serving jail time in the US for sex trafficking a minor.

These new photographs, which also include pictures of his possessions such as a massage book for ‘dummies’, come after the Daily Mirror listed the UK celebrities in the so-called Epstein files including several linked to Oxfordshire.

The US House Oversight Committee has made clear that being named does not constitute wrongdoing and that names appear in different contexts, ranging from general social contact to specific business discussions.

Indeed, it does not even imply there was a friendship nor that they necessarily met the disgraced financier.

Evolutionary biologist and celebrity atheist Richard Dawkins – emeritus fellow of New College who was raised in Oxfordshire – was mentioned as was former Witney MP and Prime Minister David Cameron.

Now dead Professor Stephen Hawking was included 17 times and recently knighted Sir David Beckham is in the documents nine times.

Over 30 British celebrities were named in the files, including other royals and politicians, with the full list possible to see on the Daily Mirror.

The most cited UK person within them is Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, named 173 times according to the Daily Mirror.

The release of the photos was not without controversy with a number of documents and photos missing from the files according to media reports.

These included two images of US President Donald Trump with the Department of Justice saying they had been removed out of an “abundance of caution”.

Since Democrat politicians highlighted the missing photographs they have since been restored.

In addition, many of the pages were either partially or fully redacted, which the Department of Justice says is to protect the more than 1,200 victims and their families.
