Two people died in a trailer that caught fire in North Surrey on Sunday night.

Surrey police said that they were called at approximately 9 p.m. by Surrey Fire Services to the fire in the 12200 block of 102 Avenue.
That is where they found an RV that was engulfed in flames.
Neighbour Sukhwinder Saroya told Global News that his son rushed over with a garden hose to try to fight the flames, while he tried to get the people out.

“I go around and knock the door… then I smashed both windows on the side and the front, but still, no one responding in there,” he said.
A nearby home was evacuated, police said, and the occupants were unharmed.

The two people were found dead inside the trailer.
Police are working on verifying identities and notifying the family.
A resident from the evacuated home told Global News that he had warned the people in the RV not to run an extension cord.

“There were a number of theories that were forwarded by witnesses and people associated to the property,” Ian MacDonald with the Surrey Police Service said.
“The fire investigator and the police investigator will explore all of those as possible causes, but obviously go by the evidence they find.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
