Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is anticipating increased vehicle traffic to and from the airport on Friday December 26 as well as throughout the weekend. This is due to the annual Boxing Day sale at the nearby McArthurGlen.

YVR is offering the following tips for getting to and from the airport on December 26 and throughout the weekend:

Those flying from YVR or dropping off or picking someone up from the airport are encouraged to take Canada Line. For those who must drive to the airport, leave extra time, and have a parking plan. You can pre-book parking at yvr.ca/parking.Boxing Day shoppers are advised to take Canada Line. McArthurGlen is only steps away from Canada Line’s Templeton Station. For those who must drive, you may experience delays accessing the Designer Outlet Centre. Parking is available at both McArthurGlen and YVR lots.

Safety and security are our top priorities. RCMP, traffic management personnel, and roadway signage will be in place to direct drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. All road users are encouraged to always follow direction from traffic personnel and posted signs.

Passengers are encouraged to check flight status with their airline and monitor traffic reports for most up-to-date information on the roads.

Updates will continue to be available at YVR.ca and on X: @yvrairport @yvraeroport.
