The assault happened this morning.

One person has been seriously injured and another is in custody after an assault in Hamilton.

Police were called to Salmond St about 8.40am after reports of an assault between people known to one another.

One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries, a police spokesperson said.

Another
person is in custody.
