Edmonton Oilers winger Andrew Mangiapane is a healthy scratch tonight against the Winnipeg Jets, per TSN’s Ryan Rishaug.
Mangiapane has just five goals and 11 points in 39 games with a plus/minus of -16 on the season.
The 29-year-old has one point in his past 11 games, a goal against the Minnesota Wild on Dec. 20.
He is in the first season of a two-year, $7.2 million contract he signed as a free agent on July 1.
A sixth-round pick (166th overall) by Calgary in 2015, Mangiapane’s best season as an NHLer came in 2021-22, where he notched career-highs in goals (35) and points (55) with the Flames.
Internationally, he helped Canada win gold at the 2021 World Championship and won tournament MVP after scoring seven goals with 11 points in seven games.
The Toronto, Ont., native has skated in 537 career NHL games, scoring 128 goals with 254 points, split between the Flames, Washington Capitals and Oilers.
