Five people were injured in a shooting early Thursday morning at a Dallas after-hours club.

DALLAS — Five people were injured in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day in a shooting at a Dallas after-hours club, police said. 

Officers responded to a shooting call around 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, at an after-hours club on Empire Central near the frontage road of I-35E, the Dallas Police Department said in a press release. 

Investigators found that multiple people were shot at the scene, the release states. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and took five people to a hospital, police said. 

One of the victims is in critical condition, officials said. 

Family members have identified one of the victims critically injured in a New Year’s Day shooting at a Dallas after-hours club as Zec’qurie Cannon Grant Fields, who is better known in the hip-hop world as Zeethewizard. 

Dallas police have not announced any arrests in this case and said the investigation remains ongoing.
