A grieving family has paid a heartfelt tribute to the “much-loved son, father and partner” who died after an incident on an Inverness street.

Police Scotland has officially named the victim of the alleged Balloan Road attack as 42-year-old Arturs Juskins, a Latvian national.

A first picture of the dead man was also issued by the force.

It comes after a 38-year-old man appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court charged with murder.

David Wallace is accused of repeatedly striking Latvian man Arturs Juskins on the neck and body with a knife in Balloan Road on January 9 and murdering him.

A 21-year-old man also appeared before Inverness Sheriff Court charged with murder on Monday.

Lyall Wallace, from Inverness, is accused of repeatedly striking Arturs Juskins on the neck and body with a knife and murdering him.

Mr Juskins’ family released a statement through Police Scotland saying: “Arturs was a much-loved son, father and partner who will be greatly missed.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 8.25am on Friday, 9 January, 2026, we received a report of three men having been injured outside a property on Balloan Road.

“One of the men, Arturs, was pronounced dead upon arrival at hospital.

“The two other men, aged 21 and 38, were arrested and charged in connection with the death and appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday, January 12 and Tuesday, January 13 respectively.”
