DJ Fat Tony has revealed the truth about Victoria Beckham’s “inappropriate” dance at son Brooklyn’s wedding, claiming that bride Nicola Peltz left the room “crying her eyes out”.
The DJ, who said he had been booked for the three-day nuptials, having played at plenty of Beckham family parties previously, revealed that the most awkward moment was the poorly-attended morning-after brunch, where all anyone could talk about was the cringeworthy moment from the dancefloor.
Earlier this week, Brooklyn weighed in on months of speculation about a rift from his famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham, with a lengthy Instagram statement where he accused them of trying to commodify his childhood and being hostile to his wife. But the words that grabbed the most headlines were his claims that his mother had “danced very inappropriately on me” at his wedding to Peltz, in a moment where he had expected to perform his first dance with his wife.
DJ Fat Tony spoke to This Morning on Friday, 23 January, about what he thought had really gone on at the wedding, appearing to back up some of the claims about the dancefloor drama.

DJ Fat Tony told This Morning hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond that he had been booked for the three days of the wedding.
He said: “I did a brunch on the Sunday, which was the most awkward part of it all. Because everything that had gone on on the actual wedding night was discussed amongst all the guests the next morning.”
Asked whether Victoria’s dance was inappropriate, he replied: “I’m not allowed to say slut-dropping, but I’m going to say, there was no slut-dropping. There was no black PVC catsuit. No, there was no Spice Girl action.”
On what had been inappropriate about the dance, he revealed: “It was the timing. So what happened was Marc Anthony was performing on stage. He then called Brooklyn onto stage, Brooklyn went on to the stage… everyone was expecting it to be Nicola to go up and do just the first dance.
“And then Marc Anthony asks the most beautiful woman in the room to come to the stage. And then, he says, ‘Victoria, come to the stage’. So Victoria is by the stage. She goes onto the stage and, of course, at that point, Brooklyn’s like, suddenly, literally devastated because he thought he was going to do his first dance to his wife, then Nicola leaves the room, crying her eyes out, Brooklyn’s stuck there on stage and then they do this dance.”

He added things, then got more awkward: “And Marc Anthony is like go put your hands on your mother’s hips, and it was a Latin thing, and the whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room. You know, I’ve done an awful, awful lot of Beckham parties in the past, and they’re a very dancey, close-knit family. They love to dance.”
The DJ added that he thought Brooklyn made his statement as he wanted to hit back at claims he was a “nepo baby”, saying: “We live in a world where everyone is judge, jury and executioner on Instagram, on TikTok.”

Asked what the awkwardness had been at the brunch, DJ Fat Tony replied: “Well, you know when the bride and the groom leave their own wedding devastated, word trickles out. Not many people turned up to the brunch to say the least, but everyone was talking about it.”
He said that he felt “Victoria was thrown into it” because of being called to the stage, and that he thought it was sad to see the family fall out.
“The dance is a very small part of the bigger problem,” he added.
