COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Update: During his address, Mayor Ginther confirmed that residents should “stay home and stay informed” so that plow and snow removal crews can continue their emergency work.
One plow driver was reportedly already “T-Boned” this morning which required the driver to be taken into the hospital.
The mayor also confirmed that city trash pickup would still happen on Tuesday as normal, with recycling one day delayed.
Original: Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther is scheduled to address the city’s snow response on Monday.
Ginther will share his comments at approximately 10:30 a.m. during a news conference that you can watch live on this page at that time.
Snow began falling Saturday night and continued for about 24 hours in one of the biggest single-day snow events in Central Ohio in recent memory. Many areas in the ABC 6 viewing area received about a foot of snow.
And although the snow has moved on, the city now must contend with dangerously cold temperatures for the rest of the week. Some overnight low temps could fall below zero, with wind-chill values hitting -15 or -20.
