Freezing temperatures are expected across Northern Ireland from Sunday evening.
A Met Office yellow warning for ice comes into force at 7pm and is due to remain in effect until 9am on Monday morning.
All six counties are impacted, with temperatures expected to fall to -3 degrees.
The Met Office has warned motorists and pedestrians to be cautious, as untreated roads and pavements could be slippery and cause injuries: “With wet surfaces following recent rain, and temperatures falling close to or below freezing, icy patches will be possible on untreated surfaces for a time on Sunday night into Monday morning.”
The cold snap follows a week of turbulent weather across the north. An amber warning for win and rain caused widespread disruption as Storm Chandra battered the region.
Over 300 schools and higher education learning centres were closed on Tuesday as gusts of around 75mph swept the country. Roads and homes were flooded and fallen trees caused disruption on our roads.
Last week, The Irish News reported another 10 days of rain is expected according to the Met Office, after a wetter January than usual.
