The hold-and-secure advisories implemented at two high schools in Coquitlam Thursday morning have now been lifted, the school district has confirmed.
The advisory was put in place Thursday morning and is separate from the situations reported on Wednesday.
The two schools included were Centennial and Gleneagle Secondary.
“Hold and Secure advisories at Centennial and Gleneagle have been lifted,” School District 43 posted online.
It isn’t clear why the hold-and-secure measures were implemented or if other schools are affected. The Coquitlam RCMP says it is investigating.
“We recognize incidents of this nature can be concerning to our community and can have an impact on the sense of safety and security. We want to assure you we are working collaboratively with the school district as well as the affected schools to address these ongoing incidents,” said Sgt. Adriana O’Malley.
“Our investigators are working around the clock to advance these investigations and identify those involved.”
