Marcin Buryta, 31, of Conifer Road in Coxford, has been charged with murder and possession of a prohibited weapon.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court later today.

Police were called at around 8pm on Wednesday February 11 following reports that a man had suffered a gunshot wound at a property in Conifer Road.

Polish national Piotr Pruszak, 45, was found with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary.

A police spokesperson said: “Following extensive enquiries, 31-year-old Marcin Buryta, of Conifer Road, has been charged with murder and possession of a prohibited weapon.

“He has been remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court on Monday 16 February.

Two other people have been arrested as part of ongoing enquiries. A 57-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting aggravated burglary. They remain in custody at this time.”
