On Monday February 16th, 2026, shortly before 9:00pm, Hamilton Emergency Services were called to the area of York Boulevard and Old Guelph Road, for a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.

A male victim was transported to hospital with serious, life threatening injuries.  Unfortunately, the male has succumbed to these injuries and has passed away.

The HPS Collision Reconstruction Unit has been called in and has taken carriage of the investigation. The affected stretch of York Boulevard will be closed for several hours for the investigation.  The affected area is York Boulevard, between Old Guelph Road and Plains Road West.

At this time, the police are actively seeking any potential witnesses to this incident and urge anyone with information to come forward.  Investigators are also requesting any motorists in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cameras.
