Hamilton Police are investigating a fatal incident on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway (LINC) westbound near the Garth Street overpass.

At approximately 6:52 a.m., emergency services responded to reports of a pedestrian struck in the westbound lanes. Despite life-saving efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The identity of the deceased will not be released. No further information is available at this time as next-of-kin notifications are ongoing.

The Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway westbound remains closed from Upper James Street to Garth Street while officers conduct their investigation. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Traffic delays are expected.

Investigators are asking any motorists who were travelling on the LINC westbound between Upper James Street and Garth Street between 6:45 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., and who may have dash camera footage or information, to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-546-4753.
