The Vitor Pereira era will kick off for Nottingham Forest tonight inside the hostile Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, and the fitness of Murillo is a hot topic ahead of the Europa League clash.

The Brazilian hasn’t played for Forest since picking up a calf problem in training ahead of a 3-1 defeat to Leeds United at Elland Road.

Murillo sits out with Liverpool to come on Sunday but this shape could really help Nottingham Forest vs Fenerbahce🙏

Good luck, Vitor!

Murillo has been linked with a move to Chelsea or Liverpool in the summer, but in the short term, Forest need him back to aid their Premier League survival bid.

Ahead of tonight’s game against the Turkish giants in Istanbul, Pereira was quizzed on the fitness of Murillo, and it sounds as though things are positive with the centre-back.

It’s a positive update for Forest regarding Murillo as they look to be able to call upon their prized defender once again.

The defender might well be ending his stay at the City Ground in the summer, but it would appear that he’s ready to answer the call from his manager and return to action.

Pereira confirmed in his press conference that Murillo has recovered well from his calf problem and is in contention to play against Fenerbahce on Thursday evening.

Whether Murillo gets the nod to play or not remains to be seen, with one eye likely to be on Liverpool at the City Ground on Sunday in the Premier League.

Forest must treat Murillo with caution

With a tough run of fixtures to come, Forest have to be careful with the player who makes the whole team tick from a defensive position.

The Reds can’t afford for the Brazilian to break down and get injured again with Liverpool, Brighton and Manchester City to come next up in the Premier League.

Murillo is a huge part of the Forest defensive unit, and when he doesn’t play, the replacement is normally Morato, who represents a significant downgrade in quality.

It’s great to hear that Murillo is back in contention for the Fenerbahce game, and now the hope will be that he can play a part in a famous night for the Reds.
