CHICAGO (WLS) — A woman has been charged after an UberEats driver was carjacked and fatally hit with his own vehicle, Chicago police said on Tuesday.
Officers arrested Montoya Perry, a 33-year-old Maywood woman, just after noon Monday. She is charged with murder and vehicular hijacking.

Perry allegedly participated in taking 28-year-old Downers Grove man Daniel Figueroa’s vehicle in the 5500-block of West Flournoy Street near Loretto Hospital earlier that day.
Figueroa was fatally struck by his own vehicle as the driver fled the scene, police said. Figueroa, found just after 2 a.m. Monday, was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Figueroa’s girlfriend, Sandra Guerrero, spoke with ABC7 from her family’s home in Joliet on Monday.
Guerrero last saw her boyfriend on Sunday night. He had just gotten off work from Amazon and planned to work extra hours for UberEats, but he never made it home.
“I didn’t get no texts or no call from him until his mom reached out to me at 7 in the morning saying, you know, he had passed away,” Guerrero said. “Today, it’s my son’s birthday. We had the whole day planned out for him to spend it with him. And it, just, I can’t believe it right now.”
Guerrero described Figueroa as a dedicated family man who treated her son like his own. He was a people person who loved to fish and, overall, loved to take care of others. She says he worked multiple jobs to help support their family.
Police did not immediately provide further information.
