WITH three rounds remaining in the 2025 AFL home-and-away season, Melbourne’s High-Performance Manager, Selwyn Griffith, has provided an update on the health of the playing list.
Jack Henderson, who was sidelined with a minor groin injury, has recovered well and will look to be available this weekend.
“Jack trained well last week,” Griffith said.
“Due to the VFL side having a bye this past weekend, Jack was unable to get game minutes in, but he’ll fully train this week to be available for selection.”
Steven May has been cleared of concussion but remains sidelined due to his suspension.
“Steven has successfully completed concussion protocols,” Griffith said.
“He’ll train fully with the team this week and look to be available next week, following the completion of his suspension.”
Ollie Sestan continues to hit important markers in his return from a facial injury.
“Ollie has been able to start modified contact integration,” Griffith said.
“With this progression, we’re hopeful to have him available to play in the next fortnight.”
In disappointing news for Jake Lever, the defender is unlikely to return to play during the 2025 season.
“Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that Jake will return this year with that ankle concern,” Griffith said.
“He continues to progress his rehab day-to-day and has recently returned to running, which is a positive step for Jake.”
Marty Hore (knee/shoulder), Shane McAdam (Achilles) and Andy Moniz-Wakefield (knee) all continue to progress their respective rehab programs.

“Shane’s had a great couple of weeks and has really progressed well from a strength perspective,” Griffith said.
“That’s transferred into some of his power work, which allowed him to begin running last week.
“We’ll keep working on his conditioning capacity while also building strength and power through his gym work.”
