Arab-Israeli opposition MK Ayman Odeh said that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided that Israel will “forever live by the sword,” as the Israeli Air Force and U.S. forces continue striking Iran.
“Look after yourselves, because this government won’t do it for you,” Odeh said, adding that the military operation isn’t “the only way,” calling for a regional solution that will bring “justice, peace, security, stability and prosperity to all of us.”
Other opposition MKs were less critical of the joint operation which began Saturday morning.
Opposition leader Yair Lapid issued a statement in English, thanking U.S. President Donald Trump “for the courage and determination to change history.”
“Thank you to the United States security forces and to the men and women in uniform who are operating today to make the world safer,” he wrote on X.
The Democrats Party chairman, Yair Golan, who was formerly the IDF’s Deputy Chief of Staff, said that the operation must end with the “removal of the Iranian threat in a way that will strengthen Israel’s security long-term. This requires defining clear, coherent and doable objectives.”
Opposition MK Benny Gantz simply wrote – “We are all standing together – and we shall win!” followed by an emoji of an Israeli flag.
