Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes seems to break a new record every week and he just put his name above club legend David Beckham.

In Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, Bruno Fernandes scored and provided an assist to add to his remarkable statistics in 2025/26.

The second-half comeback against Palace started with Fernandes scoring from the penalty spot past former Red Devils teammate Dean Henderson.

Fernandes then assisted Benjamin Sesko by curling in a pinpoint cross which was headed home by the Slovenian to claim all three points and lift United up to third in the Premier League table.

By scoring and assisting, Fernandes just overtook club icon David Beckham in one impressive statistic.

Before the Crystal Palace clash, Fernandes sat level with Beckham for the number of games in which they had both scored and assisted a goal.

However, Fernandes has now gone clear of the legendary United winger by scoring and assisting against Palace, having now achieved the feat in 18 different games.

Club legends Ryan Giggs (22) and Wayne Rooney (35) are now the only United players ahead of Fernandes in this particular stat.

It was also Fernandes’ 100th assist, and it takes him one closer in his chase to break the Premier League record for most assists in one season, currently held by Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry on 20. Fernandes is now up to 13.

If anything, Fernandes can be upset to have only left Old Trafford with one assist to his name. With better finishing, the Red Devils could have easily scored two or three more.

Fernandes has 10 league games remaining to reach the assist record. He needs six to match it or seven to set a new record. With six assists in his last eight matches, don’t rule him out just yet.
