One person was killed and three others were hospitalized after a collision in Pickering last week, police say.

The collision happened on Brock Road north of Taunton Road at around 8 p.m. p.m. on Feb. 27.

Police say that a southbound sedan lost control and entered the northbound lanes colliding with a pick-up truck. A 18-year-old passenger of the sedan was killed in the crash. A 21-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle and transported to a Toronto trauma centre where they remain in life-threatening condition, police say.

A 58-year-old male passenger and the 42-year-old female were brought to a local hospital and are listed in stable condition, Durham police said in a press release.

The driver of the pick-up was assessed at the scene but did not need further medical attention

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
