FOR THOSE THAT ARE JUST NOW WAKING UP, A MOTHER AND DAUGHTER WERE FOUND DEAD IN THEIR CAR. OUR FIRST ALERT STORM CHASER. HE CAUGHT THIS VIDEO OF THE STORM THERE JUST NEAR FAIRVIEW. OSBI TELLS US A WOMAN WAS DRIVING WITH HER DAUGHTER LAST NIGHT AND IN THE AREA OF HIGHWAY 60 AND COUNTY ROAD 2435. WE KNOW THAT WOMAN LOST CONNECTION WITH THE PERSON SHE WAS ON THE PHONE WITH, AND SHORTLY AFTER THEY WERE REPORTED MISSING. SADLY, THAT LOCATION IS WHERE STATE TROOPERS FOUND HER CAR, AND INVESTIGATORS SAY THE DAMAGE TO HER CAR APPEARED TO BE FROM A TORNADO AND THEY’RE INVESTIGATING TO CONFIRM IF THAT IS WHAT CAUSED THEIR DEATHS. Major County Sheriff Tony Robinson said a mother and daughter died after the vehicle they were in was apparently hit by a tornado Thursday night.

MAJOR COUNTY, Okla. —

Major County Sheriff Tony Robinson said a mother and daughter died after the vehicle they were in was apparently hit by a tornado Thursday night.

Officials with the Major County Sheriff’s Office reported that a woman was driving west of Fairview, near State Highway 60 and 243 and she lost contact with who she was speaking with over the phone in the area.

The two were reported missing earlier in the night, and just after 11:50 p.m. Thursday, Robinson confirmed the deaths.

Robinson said that damage to the vehicle led them to believe that they were killed as a tornado struck it.

The tornado touched down near State Highway 60 and 243, Robinson said.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is now working the incident.
