ALEX Neil admitted the way Alfie Doughty limped off the pitch against Hull City “didn’t look great”.

Doughty, 26, replaced Zak Sturge at half-time with the score level at 1-1 but was forced off nineteen minutes later.

“I think it’s a calf,” Neil said after the match. “It didn’t look great the way he walked off.”

That was not the only unwelcome injury news Millwall had to contend with.

Casper De Norre was scheduled to start the match but pulled up during the warm-ups and had to be replaced in the line-up by Tommy Watson, while Ryan Leonard missed the match-day squad after starting the Lions’ past two games.

“Casper was a groin before the game, so he just went and hit his last shot, felt his groin, and unfortunately, he wasn’t ready,” Neil said. “Lenny, we took off at Preston, it was a kick to his leg. We’re talking more days than weeks, though. We’ll see how Len goes for the next one.”

Millwall went on to win the match 3-1 behind late goals from Mihailo Ivanovic and Josh Coburn.
