Drivers in particular should get ready for a second unpredictable day of weather on Vancouver Island
The entire Island and Lower Mainland are set to see snow among other things, Tuesday (March 10) and Wednesday, according to Environment Canada.
A cold, unstable air mass is bringing a risk of snow down to sea level. Accumulations will be highly variable over short distances and will impact the morning commute, forecasters say in a special weather statement.
Over Vancouver Island, inland areas and especially higher elevation roads are also at risk of wet flurries and additional accumulations continuing this afternoon.
Tuesday will see a widespread risk of trace to 4 cm of snow for areas near sea level, while Wednesday morning, flakes are more likely over higher terrain and inland sections.
There is potential for challenging driving conditions and drivers should prepare for a sudden reduction in visibility in heavy flurries.
