Donald Trump’s rally in Kentucky was interrupted by a medical emergency, which saw the US President ask if there was a doctor among the crowd to help an elderly supporter. As the US President was speaking on Wednesday evening, an elderly member of the audience standing behind Mr Trump began to sway and appeared unwell.

Other supporters stepped aside to allow her to steady herself on the barrier, but after a few moments, she seemed to lose consciousness and was assisted to the floor. Unaware of the incident unfolding behind him, Mr Trump continued his speech, criticising California Governor Gavin Newsom. After being alerted to the situation by people shouting “medic, medic”, however, he turned around to notice the concerning situation.

He said: “Is there a doctor in the house, please?” He then told those rushing to the fan’s aid to “take your time… we have all the time. These people are great people. We have all the time”.

As medics arrived to assist, the US President added: “First responders are incredible, by the way.”

He then said to the crowd: “Wanna hear a song? Let’s see if the people backstage are listening to me. How about Ave Maria?”

TV doctor-turned Trump administration health official Dr Mehmet Oz was amongst those assisting the woman who collapsed. “It’s Dr Oz, can you believe it?” Mr Trump said as the crowd applauded, “Dr Oz! Wow, he’s a good doctor.”

The president was visiting Kentucky as part of his “affordability tour”, in a bid to show his supporters that he takes the issue of the cost-of-living crisis seriously.

He spent most of his speech talking about the war in Iran, but he also criticised the 2015 nuclear deal signed by Barack Obama and delivered jibes against Joe Biden.

During his speech, he also bizarrely gave a shout-out to YouTuber and Trump supporter Jake Paul.
