McConville is a notable absentee from the match night squad, after being an ever-present start for Philippe Clement since the Belgian’s opening bow against Birmingham in November 2025.

The City chief did indicate at Colney on Tuesday they were still completing a full fitness assessment of the squad who were in action at Leeds on Sunday in the FA Cup.

Clement will deliver a McConville update after the game.

Ben Chrisene drops to the bench with Kellen Fisher switching to the left and Jack Stacey coming in on the right.

Tony Springett and Anis Ben Slimane also start with Mathias Kvistgaarden again leading the line.

Daniel Grimshaw is ruled out with a groin injury picked up in the first half of Sunday’s FA Cup exit to Leeds United. Louie Moulden makes his first home matchday squad since a summer 2025 move to Norfolk.

The 24-year-old was on the bench recently for the 3-0 away win at Oxford, when Vladan Kovacevic was sidelined with a groin issue.

Danish midfielder Pelle Mattsson returns to a matchday squad for the first time since the January home win over current leaders, Coventry City.

Mattsson was absent with an ankle injury but Clement confirmed on Tuesday at Colney he was now back in contention.

Compatriot, Oscar Schwartau, and striker, Mohamed Toure, are on course to be back in the mix the other side of the upcoming international window after hamstring and groin injuries respectively.

Fellow striker, Jovon Makama (foot), and winger Papa Amadou Diallo (quad) is set to miss most of the run in.

Manchester United loanee Harry Amass (hamstring) has returned to his parent club to continue his rehab but Clement has made it clear City have not terminated the loan in the hope he can still feature at the back-end of the season.

Gabe Forsyth is still following a rehab plan as he bids to make a competitive return since injuring his knee in November 2024.

Jeffery Schlupp and Shane Duffy (hamstring) remain longer term absentees. Mirko Topic and Ante Crnac are out for the season with ACL knee injuries.
