Aston Villa have received a fitness boost over John McGinn ahead of their visit to Manchester United.
John McGinn had not played for Aston Villa since January 18, undergoing minor knee surgery.
McGinn made his return for Villa in their Europa Conference League win over Lille, which they won 1-0.
The Scotland international came off the bench in the 77th minute to replace Douglas Luiz, and was able to help them see out the win after Ollie Watkins’ 61st minute strike.
McGinn will now be available to face Manchester United at Old Trafford this weekend.
With Villa’s form on the slide in recent league games with defeats to Wolves and Chelsea, having their captain back will be an important boost.
Despite this, McGinn is no guarantee to start at Old Trafford. Villa could stick with Douglas Luiz and Amadou Onana – two very accomplished midfield options.

Aston Villa do have injury and availability issues heading into their game with Manchester United.
Youri Tielemans and Boubacar Kamara are both ruled out. Both midfielders started against United earlier in the season.
The same goes for full-back Matty Cash, who is also set to miss the game.
Fringe players Andres Garcia and Harvey Elliott are ruled out too.
Meanwhile, Manchester United flop winger Jadon Sancho is not eligible to play for Villa as per the conditions of his loan deal.
