The Stars and Stripes may be flying above many of the stadiums at this summer’s 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by Canada, the United States and Mexico, but the flag will also be well-represented on the pitch itself with Nike’s new U.S. national team kits.

The home and away jerseys were unveiled on Nike’s and U.S. Soccer’s websites and social media channels on Monday, March 16. Both jerseys channel “Old Glory,” with red and white stripes dominating the home shirt, and a pattern of stars being the main feature of the away shirt.
With its red and white stripes, the new U.S. home kit evokes memories of their “Where’s Waldo” home kit from 2012. But unlike the 2012 jersey, on which the red and white hoops ran straight across the shirt, the stripes on the 2026 version undulate like a flag waving in the wind.

The home kit is rooted in the DNA of American soccer, reinterpreting the Stars and Stripes through a modern, movement‑driven lens. Distorted stripes and gradient effects reference the flag in motion, symbolizing a nation shaped by its diverse communities, landscapes and love for the game.
National iconography is translated into engineered texture rather than literal graphics, creating a home kit that feels proudly American while signaling confidence and forward momentum. The kit includes an unmissable design expression that can be seen on any fan in the stands, while moving boldly across the pitch.

The collar, sleeve cuffs and underarm panels are all navy blue, as is a triangle at the front of the collar. Navy blue piping starts at the shoulders and runs down the sides and back, framing curved tapering white side panels.
The inscription inside the collar reads “The Best of U.S.” in navy blue. The back of the jersey has a white panel for names and numbers, which are set in a navy blue italic font. On versions of the jersey with a front number, one of the middle stripes fades to white in the center to make room.

Meanwhile, the away kit focuses on the flag’s stars with a “bespoke grid‑star knit pattern subtly woven into the fabric” of the Dark Obsidian base. The piping down the back and sides is red, as is the inscription inside the collar.
The U.S. national team crest and the Nike logo on the chest are metallic silver. The names and numbers are also silver, with an added inline in the back numbers.

The United States is in Group D at the World Cup along with Paraguay, Australia and the winner of UEFA Path C (Türkiye, Romania, Slovakia or Kosovo). Their first match is on Friday, June 12, against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
