In a separate earlier attack, sirens sounded in Be’er Sheva and surrounding areas in southern Israel following another launch from Iran. The incoming threat was intercepted, and there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
Meanwhile, the IDF said it has “begun striking Hezbollah terror targets in southern Lebanon” hours after issuing evacuation orders for Lebanese civilians in the Tyre area.
Earlier Wednesday, an Iranian missile carrying cluster munitions struck the Tel Aviv area, killing a married couple in their 70s in Ramat Gan and lightly wounding four others. Shrapnel also damaged Tel Aviv’s Savidor Central railway station, temporarily disrupting train service. Iranian state media said the attack was in retaliation for the assassination of Ali Larijani, the country’s top security official and close aide to the slain supreme leader.
