Adam Reach limped off against Huddersfield Town last night, with an injury that looked concerning.
The left back has been a solid player this season, one of many who have stood out. He went down on 70 minutes in an innocuous moment; clearly, something gave way. It allowed Alfie May a chance to get a rare Terriers shot away, and after a stoppage, Ryley Towler came on as his replacement.
After the game, head coach Michael Skubala admitted concern at the nature of the injury, not least with eight matches to go in the hunt for promotion.
“We’re going to have to see what that is,” he told BBC Radio Lincolnshire. “He’s been excellent for us, so they worry me because I think he brought the ball down and then felt something.
“I don’t know what it is. Let’s see. We’ve got to get that scan probably and see how long that might be. But sometimes there’s something, sometimes there’s nothing.”

33-year-old Reach has started 29 League One matches for the Imps this season, bagging four goals and four assists. He’s been one of the key figures of the recent run, having joined late in August after Towler began the season at left back.
As for Towler, he deputised for Reach in the final 20 minutes and grabbed the late goal that earned City a point. With Bolton drawing and Cardiff losing, it meant what looked like being a tough night after 25 minutes quickly became another big step towards the Championship.
Despite being the beneficiary of Reach’s injury, Towler is also keen to see that Reach’s injury is less than we fear.
“Reachy’s been outstanding,” he said. “Just got to be up, ready all the time. So just make sure I’m ready all the time. Hopefully, Richie is not a bad one.”
I think that is a sentiment we can all get behind.
