Toronto police say threats made toward 11 Toronto District School Board (TDSB) high schools on Monday have been investigated and deemed unfounded, following a morning that saw Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute evacuated and Winston Churchill Collegiate placed in a hold‑and‑secure.

Police confirmed Monday afternoon that all 11 threats are believed to have originated from the same individual or group. Officers were dispatched to each location, conducted investigations, and determined there was no credible risk to students or staff.

The first incident unfolded just after 8 a.m. at Marc Garneau Collegiate, near Don Mills Road and Overlea Boulevard. The school was evacuated around 8:11 a.m. while officers cleared the building. No injuries were reported, and students were allowed back inside once the threat was deemed unfounded.

A second call came shortly before 10 a.m. at Winston Churchill Collegiate in the Lawrence Avenue and Kennedy Road area. The school was placed in a hold‑and‑secure while officers conducted a sweep. That threat was also determined to be unfounded, and the hold‑and‑secure has since been lifted.

Police say the broader investigation into the series of threats remains active.

“We have been made aware of 11 threats to high schools within the TDSB on Monday. It is believed that the voicemail came from the same individual(s). Officers attended all the locations, investigated, and deemed that there was no credible threat,” Toronto police said.

“The investigation is ongoing, and we encourage anyone who can assist to contact their local division or Crime Stoppers.”

No arrests have been made.
