Donald Trump was seen “asleep again” on stage during the live TV appearance on Monday. The US President was attending an event in Memphis, Tennessee, when he appeared to doze off during the live telecast.
Mr Trump was seen closing his eyes for an extended period during the roundtable event, to discuss his deployment of the national guard in Memphis. His posture was quickly observed by several social media users, who once again raised questions about his health. One wrote on X: “Trump just fell asleep again! One minute he’s ranting and raving, and the next minute he is passed out. This shows how completely unfit he is to lead, from speaking of war to a nap in less than a few minutes!”
Another user commented: “Embarrassing. They mocked ‘Sleepy Joe’ for years — now their own guy can’t stay awake in public and everyone pretends it’s normal.
“This isn’t just optics. It’s the presidency. Focus, stamina, awareness — gone. So be honest — if he’s asleep on stage, who’s actually running the country?”
A third user wrote: “It’s no longer amusing. Our cognitively-impaired president is ruining America.”
At 79 years old and entering the second year of his second term, Donald Trump continues to face scrutiny over his physical and cognitive health, a debate intensified by widely shared online clips, firm White House denials, and limited public disclosure about his medical status.
This is not the first time that the 79-year-old US President was seen dozing off in the public. Earlier this month, he was accused of “falling asleep standing up” whilst live on Fox News.
Another added: “Quick, someone give him another cognitive test. I’m not sure he would be able to identify what an elephant looks like now.”
A third user said: “The sad effects of advanced cognitive decline.”
