UPDATE | 5:14pm: The Tennessee Highway Patrol provided an update on the fatal crash during a briefing Friday.

Officials confirmed that the crash involved a school bus, TDOT dump truck and passenger vehicle. Two students were found dead at the scene with 25 students and five adult passengers inside the bus at the time of crash.

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County confirmed to WSMV4 they have received and treated 19 patients from the bus crash, and that all have been evaluated and discharged.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

“First and foremost, our hearts are with the families impacted by this devastating loss.
Today around 12:00 p.m., Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers responded to a serious multi-vehicle crash on Highway 70 in Carroll County involving a TDOT dump truck, a Montgomery County school bus, and a passenger vehicle.
The school bus was transporting students on a field trip.
Tragically, two students on the bus were killed. Several others were injured, with multiples airlifted to trauma centers in Nashville and Memphis.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation. We are working to gather all facts before releasing additional details.
We will provide updates as confirmed information becomes available.
We are grateful to the first responders, EMS, and flight crews whose quick actions helped save lives.”
CEDAR GROVE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Update (5:04 p.m.): Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County reports they have received and treated 19 patients from the bus crash.

CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. — A fatal crash involving a Montgomery County Schools bus and another vehicle occurred along Highway 70 between Leach and Cedar Grove.

Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed on social media the crash is fatal.

Montgomery County Schools confirmed one of their buses was involved in the crash. The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System said the bus was transporting a group of students and employees from Kenwood Middle School to Jackson for a field trip.
Families of all on the bus have been contacted.
Tennessee Highway Patrol is the incident command. The school system said it does not have any additional confirmed information at this time regarding the accident.
Heavy traffic delays are reported in the area according to TDOT SmartWay map.

Officials are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
