The IDF says that four soldiers from the Nahal Reconnaissance Battalion were killed Monday in operational activity in southern Lebanon.

Three of the fatalities have been named: Captain Noam Madmoni, aged 22, from Sderot; Staff Sergeant Ben Cohen, aged 21, from Lehavim; and Staff Sergeant Maxsim Entis, aged 21, from Bat Yam.

A fourth soldier, whose name has not yet been released for publication, was killed in the same incident, the Israeli military said. Additionally, another soldier was severely injured and a reservist was moderately injured in the incident.

The military said the four were killed in an exchange of fire with gunmen in southern Lebanon after the force they were operating in encountered a terror cell. According to the military, during the evacuation operations, the gunmen fired an anti-tank missile at the IDF force, which did not cause any additional casualties.

Their deaths bring the number of soldiers killed in southern Lebanon in the current war to 10.
