JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A federal judge has moved the trial for a student accused of setting the state’s largest synagogue on fire.

Spencer Pittman is now slated to go to trial on June 1, in U.S. District Court in downtown Jackson.

According to the order, Pittman has been advised of his right to a speedy trial, and that he has waived that right arising out of his request for a continuance.
The case will be heard by Judge Henry Wingate. A pre-trial conference is slated for May 21.
