HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – After taking the stand in his own defense yesterday, Gerhardt Konig will be cross-examined today in court.
The 47-year-old Maui doctor is accused of allegedly trying to kill his wife, Arielle Konig, on an Oahu hiking trail in 2025.
Earlier this week, Arielle testified that he tried to push her off the cliff, stabbed her with a needle, and beat her several times with a lava rock. Yesterday, Gerhardt testified she tried to push him over the cliff and hit him with a rock on the side of his face, so he hit her twice in self defense.
