Toronto will see a balmy start to the long weekend but be sure to keep the umbrellas handy.
A special weather statement has been issued for Toronto ahead of heavy rain on Saturday.
Environment Canada says the city could see 25 to 50 millimetres of rain.
“A Colorado low will bring heavy rain to the area. The heaviest rain is expected to fall Saturday evening and Saturday night, with locally higher amounts possible in thunderstorms,” Environment Canada said in its advisory.
“There remains some uncertainty where the highest rainfall amounts will occur. Rainfall warnings may follow as the event nears.”
The rest of the Greater Toronto Area is also under a special weather statement.
Environment Canada is calling for rain and a high of 21 C on Good Friday.
“Easter Weekend is offering some treats. But also a lot of volatility,” CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said Thursday.
“Temperatures bounce around and wet weather pays us several visits that will have you reaching into the umbrella basket.”
On Sunday, rain and clouds could clear in the afternoon but the temperature will drop to a high of just 6 C, about three degrees cooler than normal for this time of year.
Sunshine returns to the forecast on Monday and Tuesday, which will see daytime highs of just 3 C on each day, respectively.
More seasonable temperatures will likely return on Wednesday, with a high of 8 C in the forecast.
