Jason Evans, 32, escaped a privately operated prisoner transport vehicle after appearing in Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 2.
It was reported that he made off from the vehicle in Poole Road at 5.28pm.
Officers have been searching the area, and a NPAS helicopter was launched, however as of April 5 Evans has still not been found.
Police now believe Evans could be in the Southbourne area.
He was charged with assault and other offences, and remanded by Poole Magistrates’ Court before fleeing custody.
Evans is described as white, five feet eight inches tall and of medium build with ginger hair.

He was last seen wearing grey clothing, no shoes and had a handcuff on his wrist.
Detective Chief Inspector Helen Deakin, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to carry out detailed enquiries to locate Jason Evans and return him to lawful custody.
“We now believe that he has been in the Southbourne area and has been moving between locations in Bournemouth and Poole.
“If you have any information that may help us locate Jason Evans, or you believe you may have seen him trying to avoid detection, please urgently get in touch.
“Do not approach him directly, but dial 999 immediately so we can respond.”
