Passengers at a terminal at Birmingham Airport have been evacuated.

An unknown incident affecting baggage reclaim and immigration has led to officials evacuating the North terminal.

Images posted on social media show dozens of people standing outside the building with emergency crews at the scene.

West Midlands Fire Service said firefighters were sent to the airport, after reports of smoke in a baggage reclaim area. The airport said the evacuation was a precautionary measure, as the safety of passengers was a priority.
