One woman near to the cordon told the ECHO how she saw police “cornering a dog” before then hearing “shots being fired”.
Nothing has been confirmed by police as of yet but it is understood the incident involved a dog.
Paul Taylor, who was working on a house on the street, said he saw armed police arrive at the scene.
He said: “I was outside and loads of police turned up, including armed police. A police woman shouted at me to get inside and shut the doors.”
