After Donald Trump’s aggressive outbursts threatening to “annihilate” Iran, there were extensive demands for the President to be removed from office.
At least 70 lawmakers in the US, including senators and members of congress, urged Trump’s cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to the Constitution – which would declare him unfit to serve. But, according to a top psychologist, Trump’s cabinet will “never invoke the 25th Amendment”.
Added to the US Constitution in 1967, the 25th Amendment was aimed at resolving difficult issues of presidential and vice presidential continuity, allowing the president to declare himself unfit, or the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet to declare a president “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office”.

But, Dr John Gartner warns that Trump’s team will “never” invoke this process. Speaking to The Mirror, Dr Gartner said: “They will never, and I mean never, even if he becomes a literal puddle of oatmeal, they will never invoke the 25th Amendment”.
According to Dr Gartner, this is because his cabined are “cowardly, corrupt and fanatical”, and, he adds “without conscience”. He explained: “They don’t care what happens to the country. They don’t care what happens to the world. They don’t care what happens to humanity. They’re just grifters, latching onto power, and they’re afraid of him”.

Looking at Trump’s cabinet, and the people that now have the ear of one of the most poweful men in the world, Dr Gartner noted: “Trump has eliminated all of the experts across the government. That’s actually his aim.
“Because what he realised in his first administration is experts can contradict you. The people that know the research, that know the history, that know the rules, can say ‘sorry Mr President, we don’t do that here’. Well, he got rid of all those people at all levels.”
Among those calling for Trump’s removal is Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut. In a statement on X, he said: “No President in control of his senses would publicly promise to eradicate an entire civilization. That’s why I agree with Republicans who have put the 25th Amendment on the table. Trump seems to be taking us on a path to mass war crimes. That’s a path we cannot accept.”

Meanwhile, Representative Ro Khanna of California, wrote yesterday: “We need to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Trump. Threatening war crimes is a blatant violation of our constitution and the Geneva Conventions.” Last night, he reinforced his position, adding that “we need to use all options” to remove Trump.
Pope Leo XIV also joined the voices speaking out against Trump’s handling of the Iran situation, after Trump warned “a whole civilisation will die” before the ceasefire was announced. The Pope called the President’s comments “truly unacceptable”.
After the ceasefire was announced, Trump was slammed as ‘searching for any sort of exit’ after his abrupt change in attitude. Senate Democrat leader Chuck Schumer said: “I’m glad Trump backed off and is desperately searching for any sort of exit ramp from his ridiculous bluster.”
